Korean Younghan Song made full use of his invite to the World Golf Championships – Bridgestone Invitational by finishing in a tie for 21st position at the weekend.
Song competed in the prestigious event by virtue of winning the SMBC Singapore Open in January at Sentosa Golf Club, where he finished one stroke ahead of then world number one Jordan Spieth from the United States.
Song shot rounds of 70, 70, 72 and 71 at Firestone Country Club to finish the US$9.5 million event on three over par. He earned a cheque for US$91,000.
American Dustin Johnson, winner of the US Open two weeks ago, took top spot on six under.
Song, who turns 25 next week, is currently in eighth place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit with earnings of US$224,772.
