Opportunity continues to knock for SMBC Singapore Open winner Song Younghan with confirmation that he will play in the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational later this year on the back of his victory at Sentosa Golf Club.
The presence of world number one Jordan Spieth at the SMBC Singapore Open pushed the Strength of Field rating to 135 and ensured the champion would receive an invitation to the World Golf Championships event.
Song, 24, sank a testing 10 footer for par at the 16th then parred the last two holes for a one-under 70 and a total of 12-under 272 on Monday morning to edge double Major winner Spieth by a shot.
He picked up US$180,000 and jumped from 204th to 113th on the Official World Golf Ranking thanks to his breakthrough win after a string of second-place finishes.

The 2016 World Golf Championships-Bridgestone Invitational will be held at Firestone Country Club between June 29-July 3.
